About friesMedia.com
I’ve been blogging since September 2003 on my personal blog, LauraFries.com – about food, travel, online journalism and pop culture adventures. But after nearly four years, the site has grown crowded. I created friesMedia.com to aggregate my professional work and showcase my portfolio. Some articles on this site have been republished with permission from their original source.

Here’s a link to the editorial policy for this site, and the style guide.

About Laura Fries
I’m a 26-year-old writer and editor who specializes in helping clients utilize 2.0 technologies. I was a 2004 College Fellow at the Poynter Institute for Media Studies; I returned in 2007 as a coach and guest faculty. As corporate online editor for Creative Loafing, Inc., a newspaper company based in Atlanta, I managed two redesigns and CMS transitions, and oversaw the launch of numerous blogs and podcasts while overseeing site production for all newspaper sites. As web director for the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies, I was the project architect for the redesign of AltWeeklies.com, and community blog editor for a convention blog. My smaller clients range from individuals to Portuguese hostels. I’m a web junkie – let me know if I can help you with a project!

I owe an enormous debt of gratitude to the many folks who have answered my questions along the way, and to my former employers who were generous enough to send me to professional conferences where I’ve gained so much.
